The whole school got to go to the pool! The older students went in the deep pool, but three classes, including ours, got to use the paddling pool, water park and playground. And we got to have snacks!

My Mom Always Told Me
Earlier this week, the students took home a made-with-loving-hands gift for their mothers. Here, now, is their tribute to the good advice they have received from their mothers.
Reading by Flashlight
This week, Moose Jaw is Reading Town Canada! Classes all over Moose Jaw are dropping everything and reading. Other special activities are happening around the city as well.
In our classroom, we already read every day, but to make this week special, we are reading by flashlight on a couple of occasions and beginning next week, we will have a regular “Flashlight Friday” reading time. This is what it looked like earlier this week.
100 Days!
We’ve been working together in our classroom for 100 days. That calls for a celebration!
First, we thought about what we wondered about 100.
Then, we started on our list. One of our projects today was making a hat with 100 tassels. It sure takes a long time to count and attach 100 strips of paper…
We didn’t get to try all of our wonders yet, but we’ll keep working on them throughout the week!
Happy Holidays
Santa Koala
Tonight was our Christmas concert! The theme was Christmas Around the World, so our class chose to sing Santa Koala, a song written about Australia. We recorded our song earlier today as we did our final practice.
The Warriors Visit
Bells and Books
It’s not too long until Christmas!
Today the children made special advent calendars. Beginning tonight, the students will take one link off of their chain every night until Christmas Eve. When they teach the bell, the big day will be here.
Several weeks ago, our class won a school wide contest for reading the most pages in one week. Finally today we got the books we picked out as prizes! Some great reading ahead!
Helping Others
This fall our school has a Generosity Club. The club has done a variety of great projects but this month they have been working on filling shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Everyone helped to load the boxes for transport.
